"Captain Jeremy, Court and I had a fabulous time fishing with you and Marvin those four days -perhaps the best ever.  Your knowledge of the area, the fish, the techniques, boat handling, combined with your energy and enthusiasm is without comparison.  We have fished all over the world - and you really stand out!   We will be back to explore other areas with you - but can't imagine anything better.

Your offshore billfish operation for sailfish and marlin is superb.  Nowhere else I have I jumped so many pez velas on fly.  Jeremy, you have wired this sport like the top professional you are.  Equipment, expertise, crew and your dependable vessel On the Fly deliver.  Thank you for teaching me the correct way to catch sails and marlin.  We recommend you for a trip to Costa Rica for all our saltwater fly fishing clients.

"I just got back from 2 days fly fishing on Jeremy's boat 'On the Fly'. My only bill fishing experience prior to this was catching 2 sails on the fly last year in 7 days of fishing with other boats and a few non productive trips with other captains in years past. This year with Jeremy I got SIX sails not including numerous hookups and break offs as well as my share of not so good hookups. Jeremy is an excellent teacher and after fishing numerous years in Quepos I truly believe that he will honestly give you the greatest chance of getting a marlin or sailfish on the fly. If you are there don't miss this opportunity of a lifetime."

Jeremy, I am writing to tell you that Tom and I had a great time fishing with you for five days in March.  The whole experience from the fishing, AWESOME food, and the camaraderie was great.   Your skill and enthusiasm is top notch.  Having fished Costa Rica many times I can honestly say with no hesitation that this trip was without a doubt the best by far.  As far as the travel and lodging you guys have it down like clockwork.  Next April when we come back we will resume our quest for that world record blue.  I can't say enough about what a quality experience you guys provided and we enjoyed ourselves immensely.  Tight lines brother.

So what does Ted Barta show us?  2 handed flycast with an 8 ft 18 wt flyrod with no stripping, just a hookset by pulling the rod back while the sail grabs the fly 1/100th of a second after the boat was put in neutral and still coasting at 7 knots. Then they back-down like crazy so they can get a quick release to maintain their average of 18 releases/day.  I have caught many pacific sails on a flyrod as well as big poons, tuna, large jacks, kingfish, sharks, dorado etc etc. Never have I seen a method that so bastardized the concept of flyfishing along with this numbers game.

The best sailfish experience I had was with Capt Jeremy Librett (On The Fly)....we left the pack...not another boat in sight....he turned on the Grateful Dead music and said, "relax, we are gonna have some fun" wasn't about the numbers, or proving anything to anybody. we were just going to spend some precious hours in an all-too-short lifetime with all-too-little free time and enjoy life here and now.
